Evaluation Glossary

Performance Goal

A desired level of achievement in standards of care or service. Goals may be expressed as desired minimum performance levels (thresholds), industry-best performance (benchmarks) or the permitted variance from the standard. Performance goals usually are not static, but change as performance improves or as the standard of care is refined.
